Whitney Taylor, CCDT
I have lived most of my life in Montana. From a young age, I immersed myself in the world of canine companionship, starting with dog walking/sitting for the neighbors.
My journey into Dog Training began when I adopted Harley, a spirited 5-year old Toy Australian Shepherd, into my life. He helped me ignite my passion for training, and leading us into the dog agility world. As Harley gracefully retired from training, I welcomed Rosie, my first Australian Shepherd puppy, into the fold.
By employing shaping and luring techniques, I enabled Rosie to engage in problem-solving and demonstrate desired behaviors. As Rosie reached the age of 7, we delved into stock dog lessons, revealing fresh avenues of communication and mutual understanding between us, thus deepening our bond. After Rosie's retirement at 11, I commenced teaching 1.0 Dog Agility Classes for the Galloping Dog Agility Club in Bozeman, fostering connections between owners and their beloved pets.
Motivated by a desire to enrich relationships between owners-canines, I resolved to become a certified dog trainer, selecting the Catch Canine Trainers Academy for its alignment with my training philosophy and dedication to ongoing education, I completed my certification in April 2024.
Outside of dog training, I cherish moments outdoors with my husband, two daughters. Our lively household consists of an Australian Shepherd, a Border Collie McNab Cross, a Border Collie puppy, and a crazy calico cat.
